How can I place a vacancy online?
To place a vacancy, you first need to register with us.
Go to booking page and select Recruitment (second option).
Two options will appear: Standard Vacancy and Premium Vacancy. Premium vacancies appear in a more prominent position than standard ones (on both magazine and website media).

How can I place a classified advertisement online?
To place a classified advertisement, you first need to register with us.
Go to booking page and select Classifieds (first option).
Two options will appear: Lineage Advert and Lineage Advert with Photo.
Select Lineage Advert with Photo if you wish to attach an image to your advertisement which appears in the magazine (under classifieds section). You are allowed to attach up to 5 free images included in the price of your advertisement.

How long will my advertisement appear for?
This depends on how many issues you book your advertisement to appear in.
E.g. assuming you select the next two issues, your advertisement will be online on our websites for about two months.
The booking system will clearly indicate the exact period of time your advertisement will be ‘live’ on both web and magazine.
How long will it take for my advertisement to be published?
Your advert will be published in the exact issues you specify.
On our websites, your advert might go live on the same day you place the ad.
All adverts are subject to approval by The Lady and this process might take a little longer if the ad requires a more complex review. If your ad is under review for more than two full business days, please contact us for information.
How to obtain an invoice or receipt?
You will receive proof of payment as soon as you place your advertisement online.
VAT invoices are normally finalised at the beginning of each new month and sent in a PDF format by email. Please contact our sales team to request a paper invoice by post.
How can I cancel my booking?
If you wish to cancel or amend your advertisement, please contact our sales team. They are always happy to help.
What payment methods are accepted?
Credit card payments for existing accounts can be made online through our online bookings. Alternatively, you can contact the sales team to arrange payments by Bacs or bank transfers.
How do I receive replies to my advertisement?
1. Responses to recruitment advertisements:
All applications for your vacancies are automatically directed to the email linked to your Lady account. There is also a facility available on Jobs Board to view an applications list.

2. Responses to classified advertisments:
Respondents can contact you directly if you include contact details in your advertisement.
Alternatively, you can use a box number which corresponds to the e-mail linked to your account with The Lady.
Box numbers can also be forwarded to your home address upon request to sales team.
Lady Accounts
My account is not active.
If your account is blocked, a quick solution is to reset your password. Upon successful reset of your password your account will be unblocked and you will gain again access to it.
If this doesn’t work, please contact technical support.
My account is temporarily blocked.
If you have attempted to log in too many times, your IP will be blocked for security reasons. In that instance, please contact our technical support. To avoid extra identity verification, please make sure that you write to us through your registered email.
I am repeatedly asked to verify I am not a robot.
If you repeatedly try to reach content which doesn't exist then our system will identify you as a robot. Please do not refresh pages which returns errors such as 404 (content not found) and 403 (access denied).
My email is blacklisted and I can't register.
You will not be able to register with us if you are using a blacklisted email which is part of a spam services. You can try a different, more reliable, email address.
If you think that your email has been blacklisted by mistake, please contact technical support.
I can't get the verification email.
If you can't receive a verification email, a quick solution is to reset your password. Our system re-validates you by going through the process of resetting your password (even if you eventually keep your previous one).
How do I change my password?
If you have forgotten your password and can't access your Lady account, you could simply set a new one here. In case you are not receiving the e-mail, please check your spam folder and kindly contact technical support.

How do I apply for a vacancy?
You need to do three things:
1.  Register with us.
2. Create a candidate profile.
3. Upload your latest CV (essential when applying for a vacancy so that the advertiser can clearly see your skills and experience).
An exception to Number 3 is when you can apply for a vacancy though an online application via the advertiser’s website.
How do I know that my application was received?
You should receive an e-mail confirming the submission of your online application. Additionally, you can view your applications status through our site.
How can apply as couple?
There are two ways to apply as a couple:
1. You can pair your account with The Lady with your partner’s account. This requires both candidates to have an account with us. For more information, please click here.
2. You can combine your CVs into one document, attach it to your profile and submit it to the vacancy you are interested in.
How to set up Jobs Alerts.
Jobs alerts are e-mails which notify you when there are new job openings related to your interests.
To create a job alert, you need first to register / log in.
Then fill out the search filters based on your preferred criteria and switch the bell icon to ON. A pop-up will appear confirming job alerts are activated and showing a list of your criteria.
How do I save my searches?
You can save your criteria as a Saved Search, allowing you to quickly re-run your search. It will also allow you to set up job alerts so that you're informed about new jobs that match your criteria. At the top of your search results, clicking the Save icon will save the current search.
Why should I store my details?
Signing up to our Job Alerts means that your details will be available to us to bring you jobs direct to your inbox.
We take your privacy very seriously. You can see our privacy policy. Your details are only available to people within The Lady magazine organisation and selected recruiters that require your skills. Your details are never available to the public.
Who has access to my profile?
The Lady’s recruitment consultants have full access to your profile and your CV.
Advertisers and other recruiters have limited access to your details which primarily come from your application and CV.
How do I apply for a vacancy without registering on The Lady website?
We do not recommend this, but you can apply by e-mail to boxnumbers@lady.co.uk and attach a copy of your CV to your application email.
Please ensure that you clearly state the box number in the subject line of the email.
Can I find out exactly where this job is located?
Yes, if it is provided by the advertiser.
In cases where it is not, we recommend that you still apply for the job. If you are then contacted by the advertiser, you can check the location at that point.
Why is the salary not always specified in the advertisement?
That is at the discretion of the advertiser. We are unable to confirm the salary unless it is stated in the advertisement.
Why is a vacancy advertised in the magazine not on the website?
The most likely explanation is that the vacancy has been filled or is expired.
Any vacancy advertised in the magazine has a unique box number. If searching for a specific Box number doesn't yield any results, it means that vacancy has gone.
Can I apply without a CV?
A CV is essential when applying for a vacancy so that the advertiser can clearly see your skills and experience. Browse our CV top tips to find helpful guidance on how to write an effective CV and cover letter.
What does (AGY) mean at the bottom of a job description?
AGY is short for Agency and means that the advertisement is placed by a recruitment agency rather than a private advertiser.
I applied for a vacancy but I have not received an answer.
If you have not received an answer a week after the job expires, it could be that your CV does not reflect the relevant experience for the vacancy.

How can I enter a competition?
To enter a competition, you first need to register with us.
Then, find a competition you are interested in and click the Submit button. Your details are automatically retrieved from your account details so make sure you keep your details up-to-date.

Once you create your account you can confirm that you would like to receive newsletters.
