Gourmet Girls: Tab X Tab

Written by Annette Kellow

Coffee is an essential part of the day. Infact for many it’s the first part of the day! And it definitely helps to energise and get ready for the day ahead. So on a lazy Saturday morning I decided to head down to new brunch extraordinaire, Tab X Tab which serves up delicious dining in the heart of Westbourne Grove.

On arriving I was seated in a corner window seat, perfect for looking out over the street. They do have bench type seating but I am more of a table girl when it comes to breakfast and luckily they brought over their speciality coffee, Brocca from Brazil, and is the only place in London that serves it. It was absolutely delicious, brewed to just the right time whilst it was served in beautiful handcrafted ceramics made by talented London-based artist, KANA (which as well as being used in-store is also available to buy).

I was extremely hungry as I had been to a birthday party the previous night and ordered poached eggs, avocado and smoked salmon on toast which was also served on lovely ceramic plates. Head Chef Marina Suarez, adds creative twists on all her classic brunch dishes from Banana Pancakes with caramelised plum, banana and soy yoghurt to Avocado on Toast, dished up with coriander, cashew and lime dressing.

Vegan friendly options were also available, including the House Chia Pot and Matcha Macaroons, inspired by its premium tea offering. For the ultimate winter morning wake-up call, guests are encouraged to try the House Amaranth Porridge, with coconut milk, blueberry and maple syrup compote, pear, hazelnut and fig.

The new menu follows the launch in Summer 2017 as TAB x TAB opened its doors as an elevated coffee shop destination, combining world-class coffee and artisan products. Each delectable dish has been carefully crafted to complement its specialty tea and coffee offering.

I also found the staff extremely friendly and prompt impeccable service. I could have relaxed in the ambiance for a long time simply watching the world go by!
