Mayflower Court

Anchor’s Mayflower Court care home is a friendly, safe environment with luxurious facilities to make you feel at home in our care. Our bedrooms are finished to the highest standard and in an atmosphere of light, spacious and elegant surroundings. It boasts a number of impressive facilities such as an activity kitchen, a café, a library and a hair and beauty salon.

Personal space has been an important consideration of the design of Mayflower Court. We have an array of quiet areas throughout the home including cosy lounges to ensure our residents can enjoy peace and privacy when they want it. We offer residents opportunities to go out and enjoy new experiences, as well as local groups and organisations visiting our home.

Mayflower Court offers a wide range of features and facilities designed to maximise the independence of all residents and enable carers to create a climate of freedom, dignity, choice and above all safety. Memory boxes are a feature for easy recognition and other features include specially adapted lights and call systems to help our residents feel safe at all times.

The home benefits from beautifully landscaped gardens, which are designed to be fully accessible to all residents. Not only are there lawns and seating areas for residents to spend time with friends and family, there are also raised flower beds for those with green fingers.

We take great pride in the range of high quality, seasonally focused and nutritionally balanced meals our chef makes available to residents on a daily basis. We are committed to making mealtimes a sociable and pleasurable part of the day.

The meals we serve are created, not just with a deep understanding of each resident’s specific needs, but with an awareness of the important personal role food plays in all our lives.

After all, we all know that when it comes to food, individual tastes and preferences are everything. That’s why at Mayflower Court our catering team makes an effort to get out of the kitchen and speak to the people they cook for every day, finding out about their likes and dislikes and discovering more and more about the people we cook for. We all have strong memories associated with certain recipes, foods, specific meals, and for our chefs, it’s important that the food they serve isn’t anonymous. We also recognise that mealtimes are a great opportunity for social interaction and involvement.

At Anchor, all our chefs attend in-house, nationally recognised training programmes. Anchor is proud to have won national recognition for its food and catering service and strives to continually enhance the dining experience for residents across all of our care homes.

Anchor has recently been named ‘Residential Care Provider of the Year’ at the prestigious Health Investor Awards and it has recently celebrated its 50th Anniversary. It is England’s largest not-for-profit provider of care and housing for older people which enables reinvestment in its properties and homes.
