WHAT: Sundown Festival. This weekend Norfolk hosts their largest outdoor festival, formerly known as the Norfolk Spectacular, which includes performances by Ellie Goulding, John Newman and Shadow Child.

WHAT: Electric Picnic. This Irish boutique festival features live music across five beautiful stages including special tunes from Outkast, the Pet Shop Boys and Blondie.

WHAT: Worcester Music Festival. Worcester's annual free festival encourages and supports live original music supporting several charities including Young Carers.

WHAT: Liberty Festival. London's Liberty festival forms part of National Paralympics Day as celebrations occur across Glasgow and Birmingham too. The festival champions the contribution of deaf and disabled people to London's culture showcasing the best of their artwork, music and dances. The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson attended the free event last year.

WHAT: Cider Festival. Perfect those who choose cider over beer, this annual celebration of cider includes 6 bars (with over 70 ciders), live music, tastings, orchard tours and cooking demonstrations.

WHAT: Launch of Moet Hennessy's Chandon. Moet Hennessy transform South London's Lido into an extravagant vintage pool party to celebrate the launch of their new sparkling wine, Chandon. Expect a synchronised swimming performance, live DJ set, cheese toasties fresh from an on-site vintage 'cheese van' and, of course, plenty of Chandon!

WHAT: The Great London Swim. The 6th annual Great Swim sees 5,000 participants compete in the biggest outdoor swim event in the South of England. Choose to swim a mile or half a mile, all for a good cause.

WHAT: Shoreham Air Show. Get set for a 'great day out' with Shoreham's 25th annual air show set with a special display commemorating the 70th anniversary of D-Day.

WHAT: Jersey Live Festival. Certainly the Channel Islands' premier music event, now in its 11th year, featuring performances from Ellie Goulding, Duke Dumont and Bombay Bicycle Club.

WHAT: Edinburgh Art Festival. This weekend marks the closing of Edinburgh's Art Fest which showcases work from leading galleries and artists. It includes over 40 exhibitions and specially curated exhibitions including the interestingly named 'Where do I end and you begin'.

WHAT: Kids Week in the West End. Get yourselves and your children aged five to 16 to the West End pronto! After this weekend, children under 16 will no longer be able to go free to any of the participating shows accompanied by an adult.

WHAT: Portobello Film Festival
. Watch some of the best up and coming films at the UK's biggest free independent film festival. Mostly includes short films such as 'Wild West 10'.

WHAT: Screenplay. The annual film festival curated by film critics Linda Ruth Williams and the much-respected Mark Kermode which includes film screenings, lectures and panel discussions.

WHAT: Brownstock. The music festival that began as a local farm party for 100 friends is now in its 10th year and has blossomed into one of Essex's most loved summertime music festivals. Headlining this year are Dizzee Rascal, Razorlight and The Feeling.

WHAT: Blackpool Illuminations. Blackpool's world-famous seafront light show stretches across 10 kilometres and uses over a million LED light bulbs to dazzle its audiences. Now in its 102nd year!

WHAT: Rewind North: The 80s Festival. Henley and Scotland have had it, now it's time the North did! This weekend will see the world's biggest 80s festival featuring live music from tribute bands and artists such as Billy Ocean, funfairs, fireworks, comedy and live karaoke.

WHAT: Who Do You Think You Are? Live Scotland. Everybody loves that show where you find out where you come from and now it's Scotland's chance to discover their true roots. If you miss this though, London has its turn in February.
