Challenging the formal, all day dining is on offer and the menu features comfort food, sourced locally where possible. Dishes the likes of Braised shank of Cumbrian lamb with caramelised shallots, kale, glazed carrots, mashed potato and red wine jus and Fillet Wellington - Dry aged fillet of Cumbrian beef wrapped in an herb pancake, air dried Cumbrian ham and mushroom duxelle. Baked in butter puff pastry, served with a rich red wine jus with a potato terrine and tender stem broccoli.

For a tipple after a day walking the bar serves a selection of wines, ales and craft gins in addition to an extensive cocktail list, which includes the signature Ro featuring Lake rhubarb rosehip, Elderflower syrup, prosecco & Gin.

Traditional afternoon tea in addition to a selection of cakes are served for those after a sweet treat. On Sunday guests can tuck into hearty roasts.

There are numerous attractions within the Lakes, including the Beatrix Potter Museum, a short stroll from the hotel. For those keen to explore the great outdoors there is a wall map in the reception and the team are happy to make recommendations from gentle ambles to more challenging hikes.
