What's your lucky date?
So let’s consider for a moment the word ‘luck’. The Oxford Dictionary defines it as ‘good or bad fortune; circumstances brought by this; success due to chance’. This ambivalence doesn’t exactly inspire confidence, does it? You can actually detect a wobble in the words.
But does luck really have to be so random? Surely there must be more to it, and crucially, something we can do about it? I believe good luck should be for everyone – and it can be harnessed – with a little help from the art and science of numerology.
The good news is that you can make each day luckier for yourself by applying a simple system. It reveals any date’s relationship to the numbers one to nine and how that should influence your plans accordingly.
HERE’S HOW TO BEGIN
When you have anything special to plan for a future date – a meeting, appointment, or event of any kind, just add up the numbers of the date it falls on. When you have the two-digit total, add those two numbers together to get a unit number of between one and nine. For example, if you’re planning a lively girl’s night in, 23 September 2014 would be excellent because 2 + 3 + 9 (September is the ninth month) + 2 + 0 + 1 + 4 = 21, and 2 + 1 = 3. Three is ruled by Jupiter – the animal convivalis of the zodiac – so it’s a good date to party.
And 20 June 2015, meanwhile, will be a seven date (2 + 0 + 6 + 2 + 0 + 1 + 5 = 16, and 1 + 6 = 7). Seven dates are more suited to contemplation and quiet meditation, and are less suited to parties.
Here is my chart of the nine date types, from one to nine, with tips on the best way to behave on each date. Consult this chart daily or whenever you feel you need a bit of celestial backup.
1 DATE You must be decisive today. Solve any outstanding problems now. Act boldly. Plan a holiday, or make a new friend.
2 DATE Be cautious and think carefully today. Consider the present situation before doing anything.
3 DATE You can be more adaptable today. Take the lead from others if you like. Just relax and enjoy what comes along. Go to a party – or give one.
4 DATE This is the day of the unexpected. Something unusual will happen – and it’s 50/50 whether it will be positive or negative. Exciting? Maybe. Be alert and prepared, though. Use an alternative approach to problems. Start a completely new hobby today.
5 DATE This is a practical day. Deal with all those boring tasks you often put o . Tidy out drawers, write letters and emails. Repair or mend anything that’s broken.
6 DATE People come first today, work second. Visit or phone your family or someone close. Talk to them and sort out any problems.
7 DATE A day for meditation. No need to attempt the Lotus Position (unless you feel you must), but sitting on a comfortable chair for 10 minutes of slow, mindful breathing (ie, concentrate on each breath, letting no other thoughts intrude) can really benefit your general health and serenity (in fact, try to devote a bit of time to this every day). Try to tune into the universe and rise above everyday things. Perhaps better not switch on the news.
8 DATE Any ambitions or long-term plans can be put into action. She who dares, wins. Think really big. A lucky time to pay off debts, too.
9 DATE Just relax. Do the things you really want to do, and be your true self.
