Fabulous fifties
It was the glamour age of Hollywood and now the fifties has been voted as the decade when women dressed most stylishly, says a new poll.
RoxyPalace.com, asked 1,000 men which decade in the last 60 years did women appear the most attractive?
Polling just under a third of the vote (32%), the 1950s were the gents' clear favourite. The noughties came second scoring almost a quarter of the vote (23%) with the swinging 60s and stylish 70s polling third and fourth place, scoring 16% and 12% respectively.
The mullet loving 1980s were revealed to be the decade women presented themselves in the least attractive manner, scoring just eight per cent of the vote. The 1990s only marginally missed out on the bottom spot by one per cent.
A spokesperson from RoxyPalace.com said: 'The fifties were a marvellous age for glamour and style. When you think of the 50s, you think of Marilyn Monroe, Marlene Dietrich, Elizabeth Taylor and Ingrid Bergman.
'It was an age when women actually looked like women. In the 50s make-up was there to complement a woman’s features and not to be caked on at will.'
