The 150th anniversary of the inauguration of the London Tube, the world’s oldest underground network, will be celebrated on 9 January – the first Tube journey was between Paddington and Farringdon.

A range of events and activities is planned, including a special exhibition at the London Transport Museum, an issue of commemorative stamps and coins and a series of steam-train trips.
