There was a time when you were defined socially by your job, your accent and your education. And there were three very defined classes of folk in Britain - upper, middle and working class.
But people in the UK now fit into seven social classes, says a major survey conducted by the BBC. More than 161,000 people took part in the Great British Class Survey, the largest study of class in the UK.
